Plot Amsterdam (2022) movie

In 1918, Burt was sent as a doctor to fight in WWI. As result, he receives injures and loses his eye. Meanwhile, he meets Harold and nurse Valerie. They become true friends and move to Amsterdam. But Burns decides to return to New York City because he is married. Valerie left Harold even though they loved each other because he wanted to go to New York City to become a lawyer.

Fifteen years later, Elizabeth, the daughter of Bill Meekins, asks Burt to do an autopsy. She doesn’t believe in the natural causes of the death of her father. Eventually, the nurse Irma helps Burt in this procedure. Harold and Burt become the witnesses of the murder of Elizabeth. But they are framed and have to flee.

Old friends find the connection between Tom, the rich brother of Valerie, and Meekins. Libby, the wife of Voze, is supervising Valerie. As a result of the investigation, they decide to talk with general Gil Dillenbeck. Eventually, Valerie run away with old friends.

Harold and Valerie follow the hitman and find out about a forced sterilization clinic and the organization the “Committee of the Five”. Eventually, old friends meet with international spies Paul Canterbury and Henry Norcross. As result, they tell that the “Committee of the Five” wants to put the president in the US without an election. General Dillenbeck can help to stop the dictators and save democracy.

General Dillenbeck is offered a lot of money to advertise the idea of dictatorship in the US. Eventually, the true friends find out who is behind the Committee of the Five. Finally, the hitman Milfax was arrested for the intention to kill General Dillenbeck who read his own speech about the importance of democracy.

Though Tom and other leaders are arrested, the money makes the miracle. General testifies about the plot in Congress. Eventually, Valerie and Harold have to leave the country because they are not safe in the US. Finally, Burt finds his true love, Irma.
