Lessons in Chemistry 2023 TV Series Quotes
Elizabeth: Caring for loved ones takes work. Real work. Anyone who tells you differently does not cook dinner for a family of five every night.
I stand proudly with the overlooked workhorse of the kitchen, women and baked potatoes.
Quotes from Lessons in Chemistry 2023 TV Show
Elizabeth: Calvin, I need you to understand this. If I don’t stand on my own two feet, I’m no one.
Calvin: And I need you to understand this. You are what I treasure most in this world. Not because you are pretty, not because you are smart, but because you love me and I love you. And you can try and deny it, but I will not believe you. When certain atoms collide it is instantaneous and it is inevitable. It is basic chemistry.
Chairman: You are a suit. Suits are disposable.
Elizabeth: How can you work when the music is so loud?
Calvin: It’s the only way I can think.
Elizabeth: In science, you endeavor to control every variable of your experiment. The temperature in your lab, the number of contaminants, the correct calibration for each piece of equipment. Sometimes you can’t count on a formula. Sometimes you can’t control each variable. Sometimes … Many times … things just turn out messy. Sometimes you will burn the lasagna. So I guess it’s leftovers tonight.
Quotes from film Lessons in Chemistry 2023 on Apple TV
Elizabeth: I regret not having more pencils.
In life, discoveries usually lead to more questions. The only constant variable is the unexpected. We can’t control it. It’s only when you look backward that you see how it was all connected. Let’s begin, shall we?
Elizabeth: Calvin, how many female scientists can you name?
Calvin: Madame Curie.
Elizabeth: Exactly. Do you think that’s just by happenstance?
– Politics doesn’t belong in the kitchen. A man wants his wife to make him a drink after a long day at work.
– Why do you assume that his day was longer than hers? Why don’t you make the drink?
Elizabeth: I think that the issue is that my body’s residual diving reflex is being overridden by my fear-paralysis reflex, so I just need to find a way to circumvent that reflex.
Calvin: Could be. I think you need to learn to blow bubbles.
Elizabeth: You’ve never shared space with someone, have you?
Calvin: I like things the way I like them.
Elizabeth: Miss Frask, I did not take this decision lightly. His intentions are purely professional.
Fran: Honey, there’s no such thing as a professional relationship between a man and a woman. I didn’t think you’d be as foolish as that. There’s a reason he’s dead set on you, and I don’t think it’s your CV.
Fran: I said to Dr. Donatti that, you know, this pageant needs to be sophisticated, needs to be elevated. It needs pizzazz.
Woman: What it needs is an open bar.
Fran: I’m not a miracle worker.
Elizabeth: See this? Presto Soups. Cooks so quick, it’s done in a presto.
Walter: That’s my line.
Elizabeth: It is a real time-saver. And that’s because it’s full of chemicals. And not the good kind. There will be a surprise indeed. Feed enough of it to your loved ones, and they’ll die off, saving you tons of time because you won’t have to feed them anymore.

Elizabeth: I need the door open, because I need to know that there’s a way out.
